Recognizing the need to strengthen the region’s workforce pipeline through innovative partnerships with our K-12 colleagues, 南新月技术学院 hosted an Educator Externship Program in partnership with Georgia Power called Connect – 十大网赌平台推荐 that provided an opportunity for educators to observe technical education in action while interacting with local companies and gaining real-world 行业 experience to bring back to their schools and students.
南新月技术学院 partnered with local public-school systems in Butts, 菲也特, 亨利, 碧玉, 拉马尔, 派克, 斯伯丁, and Upson counties to offer this unique program. 通过连接- 十大网赌平台推荐, two-three educators from each county spent four days from June 11-14, 2024, participating in the Educator Externship Program. Time was spent understanding the local economy and exploring career opportunities in our industrial and allied health sectors. While at 行业 sites and medical facilities in our area, educators met with key leaders to learn about the mission and vision of the company, 参加旅游, and shadow employees in key occupations.

- Butts County educators Mary Holmes and Kelly White toured Central Georgia EMC and Wellstar Sylvan Grove.

- Upson County educators Jennifer Chandler and Brent Wells toured Tidal Wave and Upson Regional Medical Center.

The Educator Externship Program was designed to be rewarding, informative, and interactive. The program provided a foundation for fostering future opportunities for our K-12 students in the region and strengthening the partnerships with education and 行业 to produce a better-equipped workforce.
